Son of Steak focuses on sustainability

The UK wants to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, which has prompted Son of Steak to review its carbon footprint and create a plan for reducing our impact on planet earth.

We’re always looking to find new ways to reduce the environmental impact of what we do. We’re proud of the work we’ve done so far, but know there’s more to do! Every day, our parent company Mitchell’s & Butlers are working towards key directives for change, aimed at doing good for the planet. Our goals are:

o Net Zero Greenhouse Gas emissions by 2040 (scope 1,2 and 3)

o Achieving zero waste to landfill by 2030

o Reducing food waste by 50% by 2030

o We work with Fareshare to redistribute surplus food to communities who need it

o All Son of Steak sites are powered with 100% renewable electricity

o 96% of our operational waste is diverted from landfill

o We are founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum and are committed to reducing our emissions and developing a road-map to net zero
